Hi! I'm Grace.

Welcome to my portfolio.

Here is a little bit about me

I'm a born and bred Londoner, and from a young age I've been interested in all things technical. From building computers and running servers, to being an events journalist for a tech news website, I kept myself busy.

I have built and maintained websites and led the technology strategies for international media brands such as AudioBoom, and Gay Star News.

I am a music journalist, freelance coder, and network engineer. I have a skillset over a broad set of technologies, from small scale networking operations, to creating websites from the ground up. From sound engineering and podcast recording, to project management for high level buisness critical operations.

Find out more about what I've worked on in the past by reading my portfolio highlights below.

Uncrowd Logo

Uncrowd

Currently I'm working with Uncrowd to build a data modelling engine for retailers in order to be able to predict where customers will choose to shop.

Powered by Richard Hammond's book 'Friction Vs Reward', we take a huge amount of data from emotional need states, purchasing power, and more to create a standalone comparable metric to work out where your business lies in the market.

This requires highly complex data modelling to create a brand new analytics dashboard inside of a custom PHP framework maintained by the company.

Validation Station

This project was a big technical challenge as I was in charge of the entire back-end featureset from databases to frameworks.

I built an automated signup system, a system to automatically send out daily text messages to hundreds of users, and a webhook that deals with incoming text messages.

Integrated with Vonage's API, the application has sent thousands of text messages to hundreds of people around the world.

Audioboom Logo

Audioboom PLC

At Audioboom as their Technical Operations Engineer, I developed the Audioboom PLC website. This website was built to comply with the rules and regulations of the London Stock Exchange.

The website was built using a Wordpress stack so that after I left the company, members of staff could use the CMS to continuously update the website, as is required by the London Stock Exchange.

CD Collection

For years I've wanted to have a link I can send to share my entire CD collection with friends and family. Or just access it on the fly. So, I put my coding fingers together and came up with this.

This is a one page application built in PHP. Everything on the page updates dynamically using SQL queries each time I add a new CD to the MySQL database.

Tech Taste

Tech Taste was a technology news website that I founded when I was 13. It later merged into Geekily UK, and then back into Tech Taste.
